In short: Clean-Fi runs on your PC. There's no account, no tracking, no ads, and we never sell your data. A few tests have to talk to the internet to work; this page lists every one.

Who we are

Clean-Fi is made by Cody Meras, doing business as PokeDad, in Menifee, California. Contact: support@getcleanfi.com.

What stays on your PC

Your test results, settings, saved original settings, connection-monitor history, error log, Clean-Fi Pro license key and purchase email are stored only on your PC, in your Windows user folder. In beta versions, so is the name you typed on the tester agreement. Router passwords, router-account sign-ins and your license key and email are encrypted with Windows' built-in protection, so only your Windows account on that PC can read them.

Uninstalling Clean-Fi deletes all of it, with one exception: if a PC setting can't be put back, Clean-Fi tells you and keeps only the saved originals for those settings, so you can still restore them. Test reports you choose to save are ordinary files in your Desktop or Documents folder, and you can delete them yourself. Uninstalling doesn't change your router, so switch off any router settings in Clean-Fi first.

What Clean-Fi sends, and to whom

Like any website you visit, these services can see your public IP address when Clean-Fi contacts them.

Activating ProLemon SqueezyYour license key and an anonymous PC label (not your PC's name), to check the key and its activation limit. Re-checked about once a week. Moving Pro or uninstalling Clean-Fi sends the key once more, to free this PC's activation.

Clean-Fi contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking. It sends nothing else unless you choose to.

Cleaning and PC tools

PC Check, cleaning, the startup list and the file finder all work entirely on your PC. The names, sizes and contents of your files, your browsing history and your cookies are never sent anywhere. Cleaned browsing data is simply deleted.

Purchases

Clean-Fi Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing details, and payment information to process the order, under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email, country, and order details so we can provide support and refunds. We never see your full card number.

If you contact us or send a report

If you email us or send a Clean-Fi test report, we receive what you send. Test reports are plain text you can read first; they don't include Wi-Fi names, MAC or IP addresses, or passwords. We use them only to help you and improve Clean-Fi, and delete them when they're no longer needed.

Beta applications

If you apply to test Clean-Fi on our beta page, we receive your name, email, the kind of PC, graphics and Windows version you have, and your router brand if you give it. The form is handled by our web host, Netlify, which also checks submissions for spam. We use your answers only to choose testers, contact you about the beta and, if you send a report, email your free Pro license when Clean-Fi launches. Applications from people who aren't picked are deleted when the beta ends, or sooner if you ask. For testers, we keep your name, email, and the date and version of the tester agreement you accepted for as long as that agreement lasts (up to two years), as the record of it, and use your email only to send your free Pro license.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics, or trackers. The only thing it collects is what you type into the beta form. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security.

We don't sell or share your data

We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising, and never have. We share it only with the service providers above to make Clean-Fi work, or when required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA, you can ask to know what personal information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you won't be treated differently for asking. Email support@getcleanfi.com. For purchase records held by Lemon Squeezy, you can also contact them directly. What's stored on your PC is yours and we can't reach it: uninstalling Clean-Fi removes it, as described above.

Children

Clean-Fi isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If Clean-Fi starts sending anything new, we'll update this page before that version ships. The date at the top shows the latest version.
